Holiday Thursday

Decided to do this quick blog before I take a bath and go to office. I am not working today cause Singapore is on public holiday today. But the price to pay for today's holiday is that I was required to work until 11pm yesterday night. Only 8 of us left by 11pm. The rest, even the Admins who usually left later than us were gone. Only our side have lights and we were all waiting for Chin Mun to finish her updates.

Most of them have their car parked at level B2. Only me and Wai Ling parked at B1. So, as usually, we were loud and chatty. But as the lift opened at level B1, it was dark! Me and Wai Ling was a bit scared cause only 2 of us getting out. Anyhow, I walked as fast as my short legs can go to my car. Wai Ling's car was behind me. I started up my car, strapped my belt and bolted. Though I always left office at 9 pm plus after class on Monday and Thursday, but those days, the carpark is lighted and it isn't so late. Anyhow, maybe cause of quite a number of scary stories heard lately, tend to be jiggly.

I keep glancing back my rear mirror to see if Wai Ling is behind me. Can't believe it. I am only at 60km/hr but she is so far behind and the road was practically empty! I was thinking, what is her speed limit. She managed to catch up at the traffic lights though. Maybe cause I am eager to reach home as soon. Finally, I got home at 11.30pm. I told myself 'Grab a quick shower and sleep'. So, I don't intend to wash my hair. I brought along my shower cap into the bathroom. But I wet my hair when I turned on the shower! I cursed myself. Since wet, might as well washed it.

Waited for my hair to dry, my tummy growling... all sorts of funny noises. But, I told myself... 'no late snacks', but my tummy like responding with disappointment growled even louder. So tempted to make a cup of Milo.. but laziness sets in ... hahahaa.. I went to sleep at 1.30am. For once, I did not start awoke at 7.00 plus this morning. In fact when I opened my eyes this morning, it was 10.30am! What a nice morning!

Full of missions Saturday

Well, as I have said earlier, I have been craving for bak kut teh for a long time. Calv's promise on quenching this crave at the not bad bak kut teh restaurant outside his house. The moment has finally came... yeah, we did it yesterday. It was an eventful Saturday.

In the morning, we have to complete a mission. Calv's wanted to get license for copper. So, Piggy and Tapir met at his house. I am to travel to Subang by train. Although I seldom travel with public transport after I drive, I still consider myself the more keen one for public transport as compared to some. My basic experience on taking KTM train... hmmm.... the first time was about 5 or 6 years ago. That time we were taking KTM to Rachel's house in Klang. Though I may have been taking train to Mid Valley, but I don't have a clue on the actual KTM route. As promised, I am to reach the KTM station in Subang at 9.30am .

Star LRT

I was out of the house at 8.30am. Took a bus to Maluri LRT and bought a ticket to Bandar Tasik Selatan (I have to interchange at Chan Sow Lin Station. All in all about 7 stations and the ticket price is RM 1. I actually doubt that the ticket attendance issue me the wrong ticket). It was Saturday, LRT was packed and it is late! I reached Bandar Tasik Selatan at 8.55am. I queued and bought a ticket... queue was long. Ticket costed RM 2.60. Then, when I was waiting at the station under the hot sun, I noticed the board said "Train to Rawang will depart at 8.53am". I am beginning to think... to Rawang, not to Klang? (Train to Klang will pass by Subang station). I have no choice but to ask on guy in front of me if this train I am boarding can bring me to Subang station. He said yes. Then when we are in the train, he looked at the map on the train and told me I have to interchange at KL Sentral. I started to count stations.

Map of all the train services in KL (Star, Putra and KTM).. confusing

By the time I reached KL sentral it was 9.35am. You cannot believe this. I have to go up the stairs and go down the stair case again to get to Platform 5. I have to thanked this guy again. He knew I am not familiar. All the while he is watching for me and direct me to the right direction. God bless him. Then, when I finally got to the platform and wait, the signboard said " Train to Port Klang will depart at 9.53am". Argghhh... I have to wait and I am getting anxious cause all 3 of them (Piggy, Tapir and Calv were waiting for me, and it isn't my habit for people to wait for me). And finally the train arrived. Again I am counting the stations until I reached Subang station. This is my first time to Subang via train, and I don't know where to head to or to wait for the gang to come fetch me. So, I follow the crowd and in the meantime trying to call Calv.

Finally, I waited the gang in front of Carrefour's bus stop. Then, we head to the MPSJ for license. We merely step our foot and the guards stopped us to inform that it is closed!!! O_O. All the sweats, and catching trains........

MPSJ building

Then, Calv suggested that we went for lunch. He is craving for claypot 'lou shu fen' and XO chicken wings in Old Klang Road. Another sad news, when we reached there, the shop was not opened! O_O. It is totally 'Calv's jinxed day'. No choice, we decided to go for the KFC there, which they said that it is nicer than any other KFCs. Since this is also one of his craving, better than nothing. Lucky the KFC got no off day or what.. if not, Calv have to go back and mandi air bunga.

Soon after lunch, we have another mission. Piggy have to go to Times Square for this actor appearance. Apparently he is rather famous at current due to a hit drama on TV. Because of this, the whole shopping complex was swarmed by sea of teenages. You cannot imagine the crowd. It scared me and Tapir. We tried to avoid those crowd. Calv joined us later, all 3 of us tried not to get close. Piggy have no choice but to squeeze in with all the 'mei meis' to get good photos for Purple cow.

Berjaya Times Square

Me and Piggy bought a pair of Levi's jeans each before the mission. Piggy got 'wahyu' to buy. I bought cause I finally found a pair that fits! Don't laugh, previously I couldn't get cause most fo the cutting I tried is just not fitting. Either I can fit in the thigh and butt but not the waist or the waist but not the butt. But then my spree don't stop there. I have to get a belt to match the jeans and also 'appropriate' undies for that too.

While waiting for Piggy, the three of us when to drink at Uncle Lim's (it is surprising, cause Calv apparently did not really keen on Uncle Lim's). I bought my Sakura movie 2 DVD (the VCD I have broken into 2 pieces. huhuhu...).

After Piggy accomplished her mission, we then drove all the way back to Calv's place. We played and walked Copper before we headed for dinner at the Bak Kut Teh restaurant just nearby Calv's place. It is nice... yum yum.. and I am satisfied. Calv mentioned about Lobster man in PJ.. he hinted at me ... alamak!

Our day don't end here.... we went back to Calv's place for a drink. Calv's bring out his Chivas, Dewar's and Bailey. Tasted all.. still Chivas is the best! I don't remember how much I drank but it isn't much. We drank while we are playing monopoly. It is like going back to the younger times. Calv seems like able to remember every single piece of land and how much each cost , down to the house prices and its rental. Scary! He outwon all of us..... me, Tapir and Piggy has soon to declare bankrupt!

Chivas 12 - nice whiskey.

After the game, we stayed on for chit chatting. Piggy was busy reading news on S.H.E. By the time we called it a day, it was 2.00 am. It was tiring but it was fun. Hmm... when and what is our next day out?..... O_O

Who are you?

I was watching this Taiwan game show called 'Guess, guess, guess'. I did not really watched, I on the TV for company while I am doing my Japanese homework. However, the MC of the show caught my attention. The first part of the show is to guess which candidate presented is fraud. One of them claims to be national crossbow shooter. So, he was asked to demonstrate his skill. Before he started, the mc said....

"Let me tell you a joke. There is this archery competition. This Englishman hit the apple on the pole. So, the person asked the englishman "Who are you? ". Englishman answered " I am Robin Hood". Next came a Chinese man. He also managed to hit the apple on the pole. So, the same person asked him "Who are you? ". Chinese man answered " I am Hou Yi". (Hou Yi is one of the legend in Chinese history, famous for archery). Then later came a Japanese. The Japanese shoot his arrow, he hit the man instead! So, the person asked "Who are you? ". The Japanese answered " I am sorry".

It is funny. Boy, never have I thought I will catch this in a Taiwan game show especially for a person with limited Mandarin vocabs like me.

Goat?

I had a busy week. Stressful and busy... most of us did I think. But then, by end of Friday night, while I am still working in office, one of this guy really makes me laugh. Junior in my section. He suggested an underwriting decision and subjected to me for countersigning. He wrote:

Reason: Overweight, Hypertension, Goat. (You read without the one comma, it become.... overweight, hypertension Goat)

He meant Gout. So, I asked him.. " Will there be cow or chicken later ah ? " :-P

Today, I went to Times Square. Saw all the contestant for 'Say you can dance', seen them performing live a bit to promote themselves. Did not stay for long though. I reached home at 4.30pm. I bathed ... and then my friend called saying she is coming... and I am still slopping in soap and shampoos. Wah... I quickly rinse out of the bubbles and then down on fresh clothes. She is buying a house near Taman Tasik Permaisuri, and asked if I want to go and have a look. Yipeee.... another one near to my place. I can go hang out her place. We are closed friends. It is a townhouse. Quite nice actually.

Did my laundry today. Piles of clothes. Tomorrow I will need to do some ironing and also to clean the house a bit. It is my weekly routine.... cleaning the house. Don't think of anything fancy, it is just sweeping and mopping. Looking forward for next weekend. Tapir's pet said we will satisfy my craving for "bak kut teh" ....hooray! Finally! I have been craving it for about 3 weeks now.

Full of plans these few weeks. 2/6/2007 we have movie day to watch 'Pirates of The Carribean". So, we have free ticket. But limited to one each staff. Better than nothing... and most of the gang is going.

He is the man... Johnny Depp.

I will be going to Bali on 6/6/2007. I should start doing some research on the trip.. well, though it isn't a very big island, still can't go with nothing in your head. Looking forward for the trip.... I will be doing spa there too...:-P

Piggy's XXth Birthday

We celebrated Piggy's XXth birthday yesterday. She insisted it to be a 3 days 3 nights event, since it isn't every year you turn XX. Hahahaha...celebration starts yesterday and continue till tomorrow. As usual, her annual celebration must be in karaoke. Me, tapir, piggy, hommie, tapir's pet (kacat), Jordan and purple cow went. We sang our hearts' content of course. Although Piggy was complaining of sore throat and trying to conserve her voice the night before, she sang well.... better than when she has no sore throat... hahaha (kidding). We are enjoying ourselves. We sang for 4 hours and by the time comes, we still reluctant to go :-P. And this is the first time I heard Tapir singing.... she said she don't want to sing though. And Kacat singing in Malay and Cantonese... hahahaa...shocking when we heard him rap in Cantonese and singing in Malay cause he has been telling us he don't understand Malay.

After that, we are starving. So, we went to Izzi... meeting up with another colleague of ours to celebrate the birthday. Ah... first thing first is to decide what to eat. That restaurant's service is good. They have 50% discount for Citibank, Stanchart Credit card and if you ate above RM 100. We shared the meal, the food is good too.... want to know what we have ordered?

The chicken wings.. don't recall the name, but it is nice...

Deep fried 'sotong'.

Hommie and her carbonara....creamy.

Kacat and his chicken baked breast....he thought they only served the breasts, no pasta... but they come with pasta.

Salad to append our guilt for the 'fattening' food that we ordered. But.... this salad seems like having more meat than leaves and it tastes good.

Marinara pizza.. I ordered.

Of course we bought her presents. It will not be birthday without presents right? Well, it takes us to really squeeze some brain juices on what to buy and to choose. But finally we managed.

hehehe.... 'ooki cardo'. Purposely buy this big to surprise her.

These are her pressies....

T-shirts from us, the black and white pigs collections are from Tapir.

This is actually a torch light but they have the pigs on it ... cool huh?

The night did not stop here, we have second round. Piggy wants to eat the gigantic roti 'tissue'. So, we went to USJ's Dikayu. Before that, we stopped by Kacat's house because he wanted to grab his camera.. and we have a chance to play with Copper. Grown but playful and he likes company. He pee in the living room.....

Ta da!!!! Big huh? And it is actually served in 3 plates!

It was about 1.00am in the morning before we reached home. It was tiring, but we enjoyed ourselves. Most importantly Piggy is happy.... Happy Birthday Piggy! May you have a wonderful year, stay cute always and be healthy.

Who is your superhero?

' Five flights of stairs' ... try to say that with your mouth full and I got it "Fi fly of shares" and tapir's pet laugh like nobody's business -_-"".

We watched "Spiderman" today. hahahaa... not as good as I expected though. Looking forward for "Pirates"... yes Johnny Depp. On the way back, we were discussing which superheroes do you want to marry most. Tapir and Piggy said both Superman and Spiderman are poor, only work as photographer in local newspaper. Batman is the best, wealthy business man, so, married him and no need to work so hard ..... hahhahahaha... but I like He-Man, the man who wears nothing but the loin cloth. :-P Tapir said .. He-Man lives in a cave ... O_O. Just because in the cartoon, when He-Man changed there is a cave appearing at the back doesn't mean he lives there wor!!

He-Man, Master of the Universe.

He-Man's true identity is Prince Adam, the son of King Randor and Queen Marlena, the rulers of the planet Eternia. Marlena is from the planet Earth, making He-Man only half-Eternian.

And with He-Man, it brings me back to She-Ra, those where the days.... and I can actually recite what she recite when she transform! Remember her?

She-Ra is also the sister of He-Man.

Summer in KL

It is a damn hot weekend. Really felt like sleeping naked.. but then I can't. Not because I have other people sleeping with me... it is just me, who can't sleep naked! Believe it or not, the sense of insecurity when I don't have a stitch of thread on. So, I go braless and with my spaghetti top. But, I must have my pyjamas pants on. Habit as well, since young. I envy those people can simply clay in oversize T-shirt without pants or in sexy sleeping attire, cause I cannot. I think, if I were to wear like that to sleep, I don't think I can sleep! Serious! Besides insecurity, it is also because I slept tossing and turning at times... so if I wear oversize T-shirt without pants... the next morning, I guess the T-shirt will hike up my chest!

But it is do damn hot! Sigh.. thinking if I can actually sleep in a huge pail of water!!! Hahahaa.... If only I have air cond.... sigh!

Yesterday, I finally make up to my brother's belated birthday present. Sigh..... broke. Spent 700+ for his spectacles! I should have studied Optometry... can earn a lot! The frame is RM 330 - well, to me it is reasonable. But the lenses.. sigh RM 630 ahh!! So total is RM 960. But I kind of expected because his lenses were all the while expensive. Well, when you have somebody with Astigmatism of 450 degrees in one eye and 250 in another with short sightedness.. sigh, you can image. Lenses, astigmatism is expensive compared to long sighted or short sighted. Some more, it is with PC and UV protection. Anyway, he is still a student, I can't ask him to pay half. So, as elder sis, I have to do my part. Sigh, other people asked me if I still want another sister. O_O

I finally finished my revision. Should be prepared for tomorrow exam. After so many experiences in exams, you cannot stop having the nervousness in you when it comes. Human nature I think. This paper is marketing paper. A lot of unfamiliar jargon and so many new terms to memorize. Lucky, when I started on the pass year questions and exercises, I can actually remember. Pray tomorrow is lucky day for me, Wai Ling and Rachel.
